Tell us a little bit about yourself:
I am a wife to my very supportive husband, mommy to two beautiful girls and a furry 4 legged “human.” I love babies, reality tv, warm summer air, going for walks and of course sleeping (when i can). 🙂
How did you get started in photography?:
I grew up knowing how to shoot (basics) when my mom taught me early on with a film camera. When my daughter was born in 2008…we had NO money to hire a photographer so i decided i needed to pick up the camera again and start practicing on her….and here i am today!
What do you shoot?:
Newborns, kids and families…with the occasional senior or engagement thrown in there.
Who or what inspires you?:
As cheesy as it may sound…my own kids do. When they are trying something new for the first time or doing everyday activities, I often find myself following them around trying to capture those moments before I grow up and forget those details of their little lives 🙂
What kind of camera bag do you carry and what’s in it?:
I carry this bulky big camera bag (no big name brand stuff here, folks!) with nikon d700 and a 50mm f1.4 lens 🙂
What are some of your favorite photography products?:
Hmmm…probably a really neat macro lens 🙂
Three random things about yourself:
1. I am the only child
2. i have freckles on my knuckles
3. i LOVE the way newborns smell! If i could bottle it up and sell it, i would 🙂
Best piece of advice you’ve received?:
To sleep…you’re work will still be there in the morning 🙂 I’m guilty of not sleeping very much during the busiest time of year..as i am sure many of you are!
Any advice you’d like to share?:
My best advice is to keep at it. I see so many photographers who drop out because its overwhelming (it is, believe me!) and give up. Take a breather…come back and try again 🙂
Mac or PC? Photoshop or Lightroom?:
Mac and both!
